Hey guys!!! Here is how I prepare my delicious Ogbono soup which can be served with hot swallow of your choice. Well, my favourite is pounded yam. Enjoy!
- Blended Ogbono
- Beef or Chicken stock
- Meat or Fish
- Stock Fish
- Seasoning cubes
- Red Chili flakes or Cayenne pepper
- Blended Crayfish
- Ugwu Kale
- Palm Oil
Prepare your beef by cutting, rinsing and putting it into a pot. Season with salt, seasoning cubes, diced onion, red chili flakes. Be sure to season your beef with love just to make sure the stock tastes great. after seasoning, leave to boil for about 25-35 minutes depending on how tender you want your beef.
Once the meat is tender, add your stock fish and cook for about 5 minutes until soft.
Get your blended ogbono seed and add it to the boiling stock. Make sure you have enough stock in the pot. Note that you need to keep stirring the ogbono in the pot until it is properly dissolved in the stock.
Throw in your periwinkles and crayfish. Add Palm Oil and leave to cook for another 10 minutes.
Turn down the heat, then add your ugwu.
Leave to simmer for another 2 to 5 minutes.
Your soup is ready. You can go ahead and serve with your favorite swallow like Eba, fufu, pounded yam and the likes.ENJOY YOUR MEAL!
